Crisis Management

You don’t ever want to need me for this. If you do, however, I will be there.

An associate tried to steal a firm while the owner was in the hospital. I saved the firm for that owner.

There was a shooting in a waiting room and an employee said to all the news’ microphones, “With all the crazy people who come here I am surprised it doesn’t happen more often.” That was on the news at six and eleven. I was on a plane the next morning to help that firm. Over the next nine months they got more new clients than in any nine-month period in their history.

Case management

I analyze your case management system. This includes everything from your software to how often you communicate proactively with clients with the form letters you use to your system of processing claims.

Those areas which are strengths are untouched or sometimes enhanced. Other parts of case management are rip for improvement.

I work with your case management department to gradually implement the changes that will make this department more efficient, productive, and profitable for your firm.

Buy / Sell Practice

Do you want to buy a practice? Are you nearing retirement and want to sell your practice?

I negotiate the purchase and sale of practices. Sometimes I can help find someone to buy your practice.

It is difficult to transfer a practice to a new owner. My methods make this transition smooth and easy for buyers and sellers.

Intake

Most of the firms I consult for are turning away some good cases. Often one or two more questions can take a prospective client you would reject and make them a valuable addition to your firm’s practice.

I have a variety of methods to evaluate intake, depending upon the procedures you are currently using. My recommendations have always helped firms grow their practices without burdening their intake departments.

Practice Management

I will help cover the totality of how you run your practice. Are you overpaying for:

  • Insurance
  • Office Supplies
  • Copiers/printers
  • Anything else

Who is in charge of ordering these things? How much oversight do you give? How much is necessary?

Who hires/fires employees? Who schedules time off?

What extra things do you do to keep your staff morale high?

My analysis and recommendations will do wonders to help improve the way your office runs.

Create / Disolve Partnership

Do you want to make someone a partner?

Do you want to terminate a partnership? Either amicably or bitterly. Either way, you need a consultant to make it go smoothly.

If you have a partnership and no written agreement you need one. Have it written while you are both getting along.

OGC Complaint Representation

If you get a certified letter from OGC YOU NEED HELP! If you are suspended from practice for even three days, every client must be notified that you are no longer allowed to practice. When the suspension is over you must apply for reinstatement then get new retainer agreements and a 1696 from every client.

I have represented people on over 400 OGC inquiries. My reputation with the people sending the letters is stellar. They know there are some people I have refused to represent because of the charges against them.

If the issue isn’t resolved at the Inquiry Letter level, your state bar may be notified, and you are facing a Sanctions Hearing. This could cost you your right to practice Social Security temporarily or even permanently.

Hearing Prep

Whether attorneys or support staff do it, how you prepare your clients for hearing is crucial.

I evaluate the systems you have in place; often streamline them; and help you win more cases.

Your pre-hearing brief should be a roadmap for the ALJ on why they should pay the claim. I help make it a word document in your case management software that is at least half completed by support staff.

I will show you ways to have clients who are better prepared and more satisfied with your firm when they attend their hearing.
